Stephanie Chuat and Veronique Reymond have known each other since they are eleven. Both passionate by theatre, they become actresses and play in many theatrical productions, TV series and films. They also create a dozen theatre shows as a duo.
The two actresses take their first steps into movie by including video in their shows. This leads them to write and direct four short films. One of them, Berlin Backstage, takes place in the prestigious Philharmony of Berlin and wins an award at the Berlin Today Award (Berlinale 2004). This film is presented in various festivals, among them the Berlinale and Locarno Film Festival.
While they keep creating shows and work as well as actresses, Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond shoot two documentaries, Evening classes for adults and Buffo, Buten & Howard an immersion in the life of Howard Buten, both clown artist, author of bestsellers and psychologist specialized in autism. Produced by Switchprod, this documentary is broadcast on Swiss Television and screened in various festivals.
They move further by writing and directing their first feature, La petite chambre –The Little Bedroom, starring major french actor Michel Bouquet. Premiered at the Locarno International Film Festival in 2010, The little bedroom is the Swiss contender for Best Foreign Film at the Oscars 2011. Shown in more than 20 festivals, th
e movie receives a dozen of awards. Among them the Quartz of Best Film and Best Screenplay at the Swiss Awards 2011. The little bedroom has been released in France, Germany, and USA.
Stéphanie Chuat and Veronique Reymond write and direct then A livre ouvert (Open Book), a TV serie taking place in a public library, broadcast in 2014 on R
TSun and in 2015 on France 2. As an actress, Véronique Reymond performs one of the leading parts of the serie and receives for her performance the award of Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Swiss TV Production 2015.
In 2018, their Documentary La
dies is selected in Nyon International Film Festival, in National Competition. Produced by Climage and Swiss TV RTS, this movies is released in theatres by Fall 2018, distributed in Switzerland by Agora Films.
